Go through this article for sure...
Fighting For Space

Points to ponder :
1. No possessiveness/domination.
2. Enjoy and do what you love or atleast indulge yourself in hobbies...
3. Make the partner feel comfortable.
4. Give enough independence.
5. Spend some time away from each other[if required] which inturn helps to lessen the space between the two.

I just loved this sentence from the above article.
"Space is all about how you adjust yourself without losing the 'You' in the 'us'".

Seen this tag passing through many blogs from past 1 week. Now, I hardly remember me writing on a piece of paper since few years. Might be, got addicted to typing and using net for mails and stuff. :(

The last time I wrote in Telugu(the language I speak), was, might be the time, when in college. In those days, I used to write slokas from a book. I even used to write letters to my grandparents as they were far away. And after marriage, the one in telugu was to my MIL, initially. That's the end, as far as I remember.

Coming to English, my fluent writing skills ended when I resigned my job. Now, when I look back on to my book shelf, I observe so many .NET(which was once my passion) books lying around with no use. What am I upto??? And later, rarely, I write any. And now, if I find anything interesting, I just type. So, some change within me must happen...

Now, anyone interested can take up this tag...

The Eight rules to effective speaking set by David Brooks, a well renowned trainer:

1. The audience is not the enemy.
2. To determine what you want the audience to think, feel or do.
3. To write your speech word for word, so that more topics could be effectively covered in a short speech.
4. To bring life to your words with colourful images and examples.
5. To make a point and tell a story, which can change the way you speak.
6. Happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, disgust and fear are the emotions which will help to connect with the audience.
7. Don't underestimate the power of laughter, as it relaxes the body.
8. Don't tell us, take us.

He also says, "A speech should inform, persuade, inspire and entertain the audience".

I found this article interesting might be, coz I too at time, was a trainer... :)

For any person to move on with this life on right track, Self Realization is a must. And that's the ultimate reason for our existence. Else, we will just lose our identity by losing ourselves. So, we need to analyze, and if any, correct our SELF.

But now, how many of us realize our mistakes? If, we do, why do we still repeat the same? Why is this recurring? The reason behind this can be, not taking things seriously, unnecessary expectations, misconceptions, negative emotions and our reactions towards a situation. But, if they become giant, can we face ourselves? Not easy, right.

So, we all need to work on knowing ourselves the better way by realizing our mistakes with no recurrence. Then the power of our inner soul will come into existence due to it's connection with SELF. And, that is what, all we are.

Though these quotes look simple, it has got a lot of meaning within. It's even tough to accept the situations and be that way. Now coming to,

"Regardless of how much trouble you are having, how hard the going seems to be, keep your thoughts on a high and positive level."

To keep up your spirits is not as easy as said. Initially, you will need to struggle and even combat stress. And handling one's emotion comes prior. Negatives too, peep in. But, this is where you will know what you are and how should you be. Sometimes, you do feel, time is running slow and at times, too fast. All this in turn again depends upon your reaction towards a situation. So, keep balancing yourself and accept the facts by having control on your emotions. Gradually, you can see the New You.

Next,

"The sooner we come to understand that things can be done without our assistance, the sooner we reach our philosophy of life."

Yes, it's very much true. If not us, then the other. And, that's what life is all about. Take any example, it's easily understood. But, the important aspect is, are we making any difference? Coz, to move on, this is what we need to concentrate more on. And always be positive. Positive attitude is possible only when we are true to ourselves. So, let us add spice to our life.

Yesterday, found this nest in my drain area. Shocked. Now, waiting for the nestlings. So, the rest can be done.

Googled up and found out the bird name. It's called the Blue Rock Pigeon, the most common one found in all cities. They feed on cereals, pulses, groundnuts etc.

Not everything in life is in our control since no person knows what the future holds. Every matter, in this universe, is given enough space or intertwined. And, we can never know whether we are destined beforehand for what we are longing for? If we are, then TIME should be relevant for our wishes to be fulfilled. For that, even our efforts do matter a lot. But, at times, we need to wait. And this must help us to create all the positive energies like patience, trust, truth; to deal with our selves the better way.

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye and makes the eyes strong.
A Tomato is like our heart since it has four chambers and it is good for the same.

Kidney Beans look exactly like human kidney and help maintain kidney function.
Celery looks more like bones and targets bone strength.

Birth --> Education --> Career --> Marriage --> Children --> Retirement --> Old Age --> Death.
We do all go through this, though not specifically in the same order. The common part is, Birth --> Leading Life --> Death.
We just don't lead life, since we are alive. We all try to achieve something as we go through all these elements with a sense of satisfaction. And it is purely, our own self progress with unique experiences. But, at some point of time, we might question ourselves, is this what life is all about? (since, all these are common)
And, that's where, complete satisfaction will come into picture, when we start helping the people who are in need and automatically, we'll be out of this loop. Though, birth and death can't be changed, living/leading life can be.

When Mother Teresa received her Nobel Prize she was asked, "What can we do to promote world peace?" She replied, "Go home and love your family."

We should seize every opportunity to give encouragement. Encouragement is oxygen to the soul.

Leonard Ravenhill once said about prayer, "One might estimate the weight of the world, tell the size of the celestial city, count the stars of heaven, measure the speed of lightning, and tell the time of the rising and the setting of the sun - but you cannot estimate prayer-power. Prayer is as vast as God because He is behind it. Prayer is as mighty as God because He has committed Himself to answer it."

You may give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.

When I come to the end of my rope, God is there to take over.

In trying times, don't quit trying.

Do not follow where the path may lead - go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

From past few days, I had a question pondering in my mind, the difference between Self-realization and Devotion. And, this went out with a series of thoughts. I personally feel devotion comes with love and when true to the self. And, this can be towards the work we do or even towards God. And, Self-realization is an analysis of what are we and the direction we are moving to. But still, is there any connection between both? Yes, devotion leads to self-realization and vice-versa. Our commitment with love towards anything tells us what we are and that is self-realization. When we correct ourselves by moving towards the right path, we are becoming true to our Self and will start doing anything with devotion. Now, I think, I got my answer.... :). If any, do post your views too.

Tagged by dear Sush, and so here I go. What I need to do, is to list out my favourite material possessions.

From my childhood , I was accumulated with greeting cards which I preserve them even now. Even slam books took their role. Gradually, I treasured SAI's posters and books, which I even got them in the form of gifts. As days passed on, my collections included key chains, soft toys, hand bags, artificial flowers and now my blog(which itself is a precious collection). But, the gifts me and H exchanged were lost while returning from US initially (which were in one of the boxes, on the way through ship), since they were not insured. A painful memory. Might be, a lesson to not be attached. Learning still. :). Life is a series of lessons, right?

Now, have a glance through few of my collections.

Now, I tag everyone who visits my blog. Do take up, when you find time.

'Kranthi' means change and 'Sankranthi' means a good change. Since Sun enters the Makara/Capricorn sign, we call it as 'Makara Sankranthi'. Between the months of Margasira and Pushyam is where the sun takes its entry into Capricorn sign. In the Bhagavad Gita, Sri Krishna has declared, "Among the months, I am the month of Margasira". The Margasira month is the crown among the twelve months, since the world experiences the abundance of the harvested food grains with joy. That's why we celebrate Makara Sankranthi as a Rice Harvest festival. It is also considered as a Thanksgiving day, to everyone who contributed their best, to the Gods, to the Sun and the Cattle.

We celebrate this festival mostly by decorating the front of the entrance door with rangoli designs, by flying kites and by preparing recipes which includes rice. Now, here are my rangoli patterns.
