Just trying to key in few points of Classical Indian Music and Dance.

The Indian Classical Music contains Sapthaswaras or 7 basic Notes, which are; Sa, Ri/Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da/Dha, Ni, in which we have :
Carnatic Music or South Indian Music, and
Hindustani Music or North Indian Music.

The Classical Dances Of India are,
Bharathanatyam from Tamil Nadu,
Kathakali from Kerala,
Kuchipudi from Andhra Pradesh,
Mohiniyattam from Kerala,
Kathak from North India,
Manipuri from Manipur, and
Odissi from Orissa.
