Hindus apply it on the forehead/Ajna chakra, the space between the two eyebrows. It can be Kumkum, turmeric, vibhuti or sandal. Each of these has it's own significance.
White Sandal : Signifies calmness, purity, and peace
Red Kumkum : Symbolises strength and stability
Saffron or Turmeric : Denotes wealth and prosperity
Black Bhasma or Vibhuti : Represents dedication, eliminates negativity.

Had loads of fun in between when my systems were down. Visited Kanchi (famous for temples and sarees) and Queensland amusement park in Chennai with my cousins (pcch, now having problem in posting pictures).
And from a week, taking up tickle tests to just know my Self. It says creative, relaxed eater, motivator, noble by nature, left brained and what not... To see for more :-).

My Desktop and Laptop's problem still continues. It says ' A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer '. When restarted, it says ' Exiting PXE_ROM.....Boot Device - HD, CD-Rom/DVD, Diskette A, Internal LAN ' and so on. Did many to solve the same. Now planning to take it to the service center. Hope, my system's will recover soon.

Sorry everyone for me being late to post. I was not constant at one place in between and at the same time had problems with my system. And meanwhile, I even just started thinking about a health-conscious diet, by checking cholesterol levels. This might be, because of the fast food we eat or dine out or since I am even a food lover. Just got few sites, while browsing for the same. Good sight!

SARVAJIT NAMA NUTANA SAMVATSARA SUBHA-
KANKSHALU !

It is our Telugu New Year which falls on 20th of March, this year. So, wishing everyone a Happy Ugaadi and a prosperous year ahead. Our day starts with Puja, by later having "Ugaadi Pachchadi" which is a mixture of Neem buds/flowers(Bitterness), Jaggery(Sweetness), Raw Mango(Vagaru), Tamarind Juice(Sour), Chilli Powder/pepper(Hot) and Salt(salty taste). These 6 different flavours are called Shadruchulu.
For more information about the festival, click over here.

Sri Rama Navami just falls after a week of Ugadi. It is on 27th of this month. The birth of Sri Rama is celebrated. It is also observed as the marriage day of Sri Rama and Sita. The special offering of this day is Panakam(a beverage made of jaggery dissolved in water to which pepper powder and cardamom powder are added) and 'Vada Pappu'(soaked lentil). Happy Sri Rama Navami !
