AUM
•Wednesday, July 11, 2007

We all believe that there is one force or energy that drives us to move on by guiding us. A name is given to that force in each religion; Allah in Islam, AUM by Hindus, and so on. You can know more from here. With whatever name we call, it directs to GOD, the supreme energy.

Swami Vivekananda says, " Ishvara (God) is the Atman as seen or grasped by the mind. His highest name is AUM --- Repeating AUM continually is the only true worship. It is not a word – It is god Himself. "

"Aum stands for the supreme Reality. It is a symbol for what was, what is, And what shall be. A U M represents also What lies beyond past, present and future." - Mundakya Upanishad

Knew the significance of AUM.. like they say in telugu.. "AA OH MA sangama Naadam".. the first thing they teach in any yoga class... and even our engagement rings are this symbol signifying a great beginning in our lives :)

Om is such an integral part of our slokas and mantras that often we do not even think of it as a separate entity ..

You have a nice blog going.

When all matter is vibration (quantum physics), could Aum be the first and the foremost sound which caused all matter to from and vibrate?
